Review: Shell Deliah Track - "Here's Your hook"

Shell Deliah - Here's Your Hook

This new release from Shell Deliah is the creative output of a group of LIPA students and friends who have surprisingly only been a collective for less than a year. Lead vocals are beautifully executed by Michelle Harris and she is accompanied by her band. This track does exactly what it says on the can.

It offers a hook so appealing that it entices the listener to pay attention and to nod their head as they eagerly await that all important hook.

The intro is rich, abundant in funk and a depth of rhythm. What ensues are vocal arrangements which have a broad range and hard hitting lyrical content.

"You change my attitude, you change my style. You promise everything just for a while"

In turn, the sweet turns sour. It's a place where thieves and pimps run free, music don’t mean shit to the industry. We'll be stripped from power... here's your hook"

The synergy of the band is palpable, the groove, melody and arrangement are tight. These guys are jamming and this is their vibe!

If you are looking for that all important hook, the memorable facet of the song, here it is. It's a catchy, funked up track that will have you singing it long after you have listened to it. The confidence of the band is justified on this track.

Performed By Michelle Harris, Alex Dopierala, Jack Batchelor, Edwin Pope and Phillip Hopkins.
Recorded and Mixed By Dave Chin
