I had the privilege of watching Viola Beach perform last year at the Warrington Festival which took place in September. I was blown over by their performance, their stage presence and absolute conviction in their delivery. These young men had undeniable talent and clearly loved to perform. It was no surprise that the audience reciprocated with appreciative cheers, whoops and applause.
Like so many, I was devastated to hear of the tragic turn of events which resulted in their loss of life along with their manager. I cannot even begin to imagine how deeply affected their friends and family must be as a result of this tragedy.
A press release issued today describes of an upcoming event which will take place on Saturday 2nd April. What a beautiful and fitting way to honor the lives of these young men and to pay tribute to their music.

To celebrate the lives of Viola Beach and their dedicated manager Craig Tarry, there will be special night in memory of the five remarkable young men at Warrington Parr Hall on Saturday 2 April.
The night will feature a line-up of friends, bands they’ve played with, influences and peers from across the country which will be compered by BBC Radio 1’s Phil Taggart. More details of the line-up will be announced in due course. All proceeds from the show will go to all their families.
Chris Persoglio, venue and events manager at Parr Hall, said:
“We were deeply saddened and shocked to hear the news about the passing of Warrington’s Viola Beach and their manager in a tragic road accident in Sweden. Having worked with Craig for many years and with the lads from the band on the Warrington Festival, we’ve been keen to hold a fitting tribute.
“As such, we are working with the team at SJM Concerts to host a night to remember the lads properly and to help raise as much as possible for the families between us. This will be a very special evening and a time for the fans and friends to come together to celebrate the lives and music of the band in the best way we possibly can, in their hometown.”
