Review: Track from Amique's forthcoming EP "Mercy, Light, Exposure"

Mercy Light Exposure - SoundCloud image
On the 30th December, multi-faceted singer-songwriter and producer Amique offered for a short period a new track from his forthcoming EP. Without delay, I hurried along to SoundCloud to see what this genius had to share.

The track - "Mercy, Light, Exposure" offers 4 minutes and 14 seconds of pure unadulterated funk. From the start of the track, the beats are bass-filled and the guitar lines infused with a deep soulful vibe. The lyrical content of the song is rich. This is a track of such high quality- I could imagine Prince performing it. It has a timeless feel about it. The rhythm is addictive and had me contorting my face in sheer pleasure whilst nodding my head to the beat. Amique sings "I'll expose my rhythm on Ya" and he does that with finesse.

Self-taught Amique's vision is to use the power of music as a force for good, uplifting his listeners whilst inspiring them to channel into the positivity he dishes out magnanimously through the medium that is his soulful voice. Amique certainly succeeds with this beautifully crafted piece which leaves the listener energised and enlightened.

Amique has mastered his craft and shown no mercy when it comes to displaying his song-writing talent. The engineering by Darrin Blaize is fantastic and the result is a jam that will certainly be on repeat on my sound system. Enlighten your ears, your mind and your soul and get to know this talent - a man who is synonymous with humility and completely worthy of success.
