Liverpool Empire presents: Thriller Live
On Monday 3rd March, Liverpool Empire played host to the talented cast of Thriller live; a tribute to the late King of Pop Michael Jackson. The evening was a celebration of the singers work and a two hour spectacular with the finest choreography and vocal performances which got the packed audience singing and dancing along earnestly.
From the get go, the audience were dazzled by the glitzy costumes, breathtaking choreography and vocal performances of Jackson's hits. The narrator gave a fitting overview of Jackson’s career history. Vocally, the performances were excellent with stellar delivery from lead vocalists Cleopatra Higgins (formerly of 90's group Cleopatra), Sean Christopher, Jesse Smith, Tyrone Lee and Lascel Wood. Furthermore, understudy performances from former X factor finalist Rachel Adedeji and Craig Thomas were strong.
The show was definitely a celebration and the audience was invited to party. After witnessing songs from Jackson's youth, "I want you back", "ABC", "The love you save", and "I'll be there", the audience was encouraged to get up from their chairs and to dance and sing. The audience participation was certainly a big objective for this production.
The choreography was on point at times breathtaking. Performances of Smooth criminal and Dirty Diana were especially mesmerizing. You would be forgiven in thinking that Michael Jackson himself stood before you. Award winning choreography Gary Lloyd and musical director John Maher are to be commended.
Even if you are not particularly a huge fan of Michael Jackson's music, you will undoubtedly be impressed by this show. This was a fun two hours, a spectacular which showcases the artist’s achievements.
The show runs from Tuesday 4th March until Saturday 8th March with tickets ranging from £20.40-£31.90 plus transaction fee of £2.85 http://www.atgtickets.com/shows/thriller-live/liverpool-empire/
