Soul Rebels Presents Nubyian Twist Album launch party feat Pieces Of A Man (POAM) and Soul Rebels DJ's

This coming Saturday - 7th March promises to be a quality night of music as DJ's Lubi and Chris from Soul Rebels provide the soundtrack for the album launch party of  Nubiyan Twist. In addition and by way of perfect compliment, Manchester Neo-soul band  Pieces Of A Man will be serving up a generous serving of soul.

The Wardrobe (Leeds) is where it's at and the fusion of sounds will be nothing short of epic. Soul Rebels is a live music and DJ session hosted by Lubi where he brings all of his favourite genres of music together. From Afro-beat, Dub, Neo-soul , funk, hip-hop, Jazz, Latin and Reggae, this night is guaranteed to please those who appreciate good music. 

Nubiyan Twist have been on the scene since 2011 and formed at Leeds College Of Music. A passion for Afro-beat, dub, soul, funk and hip-hop Music united the group and the rest is history - the collective was born.

Nubiya Brandon is the lead vocalist in the group and sings as well as raps. Musical direction is the remit of producer Tom Excell who is also the guitarist in the band. Popular at Soul Rebels since their debut in 2012, they have shared stages with the likes of De La Soul, Hot 8 Brass Band, Quantic, Robert Glasper, DJ Yoda, Gilles Peterson and DJ Vadim over the last 3 years. The collective released their first single "Figure Numatic" which received airplay on BBC Radio 1Xtra. Their second single "Work House" was released February 27th. Their long awaited debut album has now been released in March 2015, (Wormfood Records). The album launch party celebrates this release. Pieces Of A Man are an original Neo-soul band who hail from Manchester making music that references the past soul masters (their name is a Gil Scott-Heron song title) but comes up to date with contemporary production and composition, a fusion of soul, beats and hip-hop. Musical influences include D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, Bilal, Raphael Saadiq, John Legend, Angie Stone and Jill Scott. 

Formed by producer DK and vocalist Tolu in 2012, they craft a sound that makes you want to dance and nod your head in equal measure. Playing mainly in their home city, they have performed as support act over the years with the likes of Bilal, Omar and Leon Ware. Their current configuration is an expansion from the initial 4 piece beats and vocals combo to a full 7 piece band. 

The band have recently released their new single Rising Tide and will no doubt be performing this along with other original material.
