The Cinnamon club presents: Snake Davis & The Suspicions with support from Funk-Soul act Pieces of a Man (13/6/14)
On Friday 13th June, Premier live entertainment venue The Cinnamon club will open it's doors to connoisseurs of quality, live music.
Priding itself as the best club in town, Cinnamon presents legendary saxophonist Snake Davis who has played with some of the biggest names in the music industry. He will be accompanied by his Northern soul band the Suspicions which features brass and vocals.
Davis has played with a plethora of artists including M People, Lisa Stansfield, Ray Charles, Tom Jones, Culture Club, Hamish Stuart, George Michael, Tina Turner, Paul Hardcastle, Take That, Cher, China Crisis, Beyoncé Knowles, N-Trance, Kylie Minogue, Paul McCartney, Swing Out Sister, Dave Stewart, Paul Young, Mark Morrison, Pet Shop Boys, Soul II Soul, Robert Palmer, Tanita Tikaram, Acoustic Alchemy, Motörhead, Primal Scream, Calvin Harris, Spice Girls & Boy George In addition, he has been involved with TV advertisements in both the UK and overseas.
Davis is an expert flautist and saxophonist, able to master many musical genres from soul jazz to smooth jazz. Having first gained success in the 1980's when he played sax for Zoot and the Roots alongside Miles Gilderdale, Davis continues to be in demand and plays the circuit, remaining one of the UK's leading saxophonists. From live performances, film scores, TV shows and records, he has clearly mastered his craft. Audience members are in for a treat on Friday.

Pieces of a man (AKA POAM) are a Funk- Soul collective from Manchester. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Gil Scott - Heron, Dwele and Jill Scott, the band have a smooth soulful vibe. Having supported soul legends Omar and Bilal, played at Liverpool's grass roots Threshold festival and upcoming slots at Bfestival the collective are making their presence known in the North West and beyond. The band’s debut release, an original self-produced EP entitled “Mixtape Vol1” has received radio play in the UK as well as America. POAM will be the perfect complement for Snake Davis. The band are guaranteed to get the audience up on their feet, dancing, being well and truly hyped-up for the headline act.
