Review: Lily Jo - Mini EP available now Digitally
Lily Jo is a talented R&B, Pop Soul singer songwriter from Manchester. Her musical origins saw her performing backing vocals for a whole host of acclaimed performers. The list is impressive and includes the likes of Neneh Cherry, Roots Manuva, Shaun Ryder and last but by no means leased De La Soul.
The gifted songstress has launched her solo career and already appeared at the monumental Glastonbury festival over the summer of 2014. With more gig dates in the pipeline, Lily Jo has certainly shown her listeners what she is made of by laying down some smooth vocal on her debut self-titled mini EP which is now available for digital download and purchase on I tunes. Alternatively you can visit Lily's website and purchase a physical CD
Produced by Joel Peter Atkins with backing vocals from Taylor Jackson, Tolu Ajayi and Lisa Burrell, this three track EP is destined to be a triumph.

Track review:
Big Shot - ft Tolu Ajayi - Without doubt my favourite of all three of the tracks. The bass line is heavy, this is a big tune of the Phat variety, I challenge you not to nod your head as the groove hits you. You will hit repeat no sooner have the 3 minutes and seven seconds of the track elapsed. The vocals are tight and the melody utterly memorable. An empowering track which focuses on respect in relationships. 5/5
Pressure - with it's catchy melody and hook, this has a laid back vibe. This is a great little track that is definitely a grower. Lily Jo's vocals are laid down with a cool soulful manner. 4/5
Each one teach one - ft Taylor Jackson - A positive track which packs a punch lyrically with subtlety and grace. It is an acknowledgement, a positive reflection on those who have contributed to ones life journey. Lily gives thanks and gives credit to those who have shaped her. "This goes out to all the mothers and the fathers who inspire me, not just physically, emotionally and spiritually.." I love the tone of this track and the subject matter. It is life affirming and Lily Jo's tone is rich and soulful. This is a certainly a feel good track which demonstrates Lily Jo's range beautifully. 4/5
Kudos to Lily on this her debut EP. Watch out for her. No more BV roles for her. Her time is now.
