PREVIEW: Lily-Jo Brand new EP "Need To Know"

Lily-Jo is a pop soul singer-songwriter from Manchester who has performed backing vocals for some leading names in the music industry. From Damon Alban, Roots Manuva, Neneh Cherry, De La Soul and Shaun Ryder, Lily-Jo is no stranger to the stage and she has been owning the stage for some time now since she made the progression to becoming a solo artist.

Since appearing at Glastonbury festival, playing across the UK and receiving local and national press coverage, Lily-Jo has been working hard on her new EP entitled "Need To Know". There are five tracks on Lily-Jo's upcoming EP, each with a distinctly different sound and feel. The EP on a whole has a pop vibe to it as opposed to the soulful aspect which Lily-Jo is reputed for. The snippets available for preview on her website and SoundCloud show her diversity and range as an artist. In advance of the Summer release, here is a brief preview of the EP.

• Bring me back: - This is a track jam-packed with attitude with great guitar lines and an generous serving of  pop.

• Fill up your cup: - Lily-Jo's vocal perfectly compliments the band. The result an up- tempo gritty jam designed to rock out to. 
• Need to know - title track of the EP - upbeat and melodic with a catchy riff, positive and uplifting in its lyrical content encouraging self belief and positive affirmation.
• Show me - stripped back vocal , rich tone -  a great track which showcases Lily-Jo's vocal.
• We were young - a more acoustic sound, a ballad which is nostalgic and heartwarming.

The EP Launch in conjunction with indie label Light Music will take place at Noho Manchester on 9th June and will feature support acts and an after party DJ. Tickets are available  here Lily-Jo will perform alongside her new band.

Lily-Jo signed to Light Music
